Design and Build
The project team’s analysts and technical architects will work together to convert
requirements into detailed component design documents and a comprehensive data model.
Capturing information flows and process flows in flowcharts is a useful tool in this
segment. The data model is a critical deliverable, and is the foundation for design
specifications and actual coded modules. Unit testing occurs during this segment.
Test and Prep
As the technical architects and developers finish building the components and modules
required for the solution, the team’s analysts create comprehensive user
documentation and test plans. An implementation checklist is developed in
preparation for moving the system into production. An automated, browser-based
incident tracking tool is used to help manage the testing process.
