step three: Transition
Implementation
Following the checklist developed in the Test and Prep segment, the project team moves the solution from the staging environment to the live environment. Automated data conversion programs, if relevant, are executed and results are verified. The project team is devoted to supporting the solution’s users in the initial transition period, again using a browser-based incident tracking tool to manage the support process.

Scoring and Handover
The Norman Group works with the client to measure and grade the success of the project, based on the criteria established in the Inception segment. A Lessons Learned document is completed by the project manager, who also completes Project Recap forms for the project’s resources. Finally, a formal handover is executed between The Norman Group and the client. In most cases, a Service Level Agreement is put in place for secondary support to be provided by The Norman Group.
